University of Ghana is the premier university in Ghana and offers degrees in a range of disciplines including, Arts and Social Sciences, Business, Physical and Biological Sciences, Health Sciences, Law, Agriculture, Nuclear and Allied Sciences and Engineering Sciences, among others. The university has as its vision to become a world-class research-intensive University and its research is governed through the Office of Research, Innovation and Development.

The School of Public Health, a constituent institution of the College of Health Sciences, is Ghana’s leading center of excellence for training, research and innovation in public health. It is one of the few African institutions that subscribe to the philosophy of “Public Health Schools without walls”, a philosophy which emphasizes a balance between field practicum and classroom work, thus students have the opportunity to translate theories into practice. The School is organized into 6 departments: Health Policy Planning and Management; Social and Behavioural Sciences; Biological, Environmental and Occupational Health; Population, Family and Reproductive Health and Epidemiology and Disease Control. Dr. Mawuli Dzodzomenyo, an environmental health expert and a faculty member with over 15 years of academic and research experience is the lead in this multi-country research partnership between UK, Kenya and Ghana.
