Having undertaken her PhD in Geography and Environmental Sciences at the University of Southampton, Mair’s position on the Water and Waste project has seen her transition to the Social Statistics and Demography department where she is now a Research Fellow.
With expertise in monitoring and evaluating drinking-water availability across sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), and extensive experience working with household survey data, Mair is using her secondary data analysis skills to explore Water and Waste’s more recent focus on the issue of nappy waste in urban SSA. Specifically, she is aiming to estimate the consumption of single-use disposable nappies and explore how they are currently disposed of.
