Allan Hill, a medical demographer, is Professor of Population and International Health in the School of Economic, Social and Political Sciences at the University of Southampton.  His previous work in West Africa has included anti-malaria interventions with the MRC in The Gambia; child survival interventions in Mali and Nigeria; and longitudinal studies of women’s health in Accra with the Ghana School of Public Health and ISSER. 

He has worked previously with Jim Wright on a trial of the effects subsidised water provision on health in Accra.  His work on spatial inequalities in Ghana provides baseline information for the identification of off-grid communities suitable for inclusion in this project.
