The team at the University of Southampton in the UK is drawn from the School of Geography and Environmental Science and the Department of Social Statistics and Demography. Jim Wright in Geography and Environmental Science brings expertise in domestic water access and geospatial analysis, particularly in urban sub-Saharan Africa, as well as expertise in waste management through Pete Shaw, thereby covering both the water and waste components of the project.
In Social Statistics and Demography, Allan Hill has decades of experience working in public health demography in West Africa (particularly Accra) and in intervention evaluation. Both Allan and his colleague Heini Väisänen bring substantial expertise in quantitative household survey analysis, supporting plans for linking our field data to existing household survey data.
